How long have you been in business?
My father started the business in the 1970's. I have been running it since 2001.
What is your primary product or service?
We provide expert guidance for full and half day fishing trips on Lake Superior. We also provide all bait and tackle needed.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
I served as first mate aboard the "Yellow Rose" which was my fathers charter boat in the 70's and 80's.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
We are well known as the "family friendly charter" but also offer trips to meet our business clients' needs, such as large groups on business sponsored outings. Also if you own an RV, there is full hook up RV sites available right next to the boat for only $35 per night. These RV sites are owned by the marina and are the only canal park area RV SITES.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We were running 2 boats for a while but are presently operating one. We base our operation from Lakehead Boat basin but can also run trips from the Waterfront Plaza Marina if arrangements are made in advance.
Provide detailed directions to your location
We are Located at Lakehead Boat Basin, 1000 Minnesota Ave, Duluth, MN 55802. Close to downtown (10 blocks) and the Canal Park Area (3 blocks) allowing you to leave your vehicle and tour many sites by foot. There is plenty of safe convenient, free off street parking right next to the boat. Directions: From Minneapolis-St. Paul take I-35 north to Duluth. Take the Lake Ave exit and turn south (right), go over Duluth's landmark Aerial Lift Bridge, drive 3 blocks & turn right on 10th Street, continue straight for 1 block and go through the gates into Lakehead Boat Basin, turn right and drive to the end of the parking lot and park in front of the boat (do not block marinas lift bay). We are the last boat in the front row. The boat has "DuluthCharterFishing.com" in bold blue print across the front and "get the ADVANTAGE" on both sides. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes ahead of time to load gear etc.. but also try not to arrive to early as we are getting rods and equipment ready at that time.
What type of payments do you accept?
We prefer cash or check but also accept major credit cards.
Which areas do you service?
We concentrate out efforts on western Lake Superior and the St. Louis bay.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?

What are your hours of operation?
We operate May 1st through October 15th. AM trips leave the dock at 6:30 AM. Afternoon trips start at 1 pm. Full days start at 7 AM
